American National Lawn Sprinkler System Basics

The lawn sprinkler systems of today are self sufficient watering systems that provide the essential irrigation needs of lawns and plants not provided by rain or snow. When designed properly, a sprinkler system will eliminate the need to water with a garden hose thereby saving you valuable time and money. Once a system is installed, you can sit back and let the system do its job. Interaction between you and the sprinkler system is minimal, with minor adjustments being made for the particular season. Adjustments are made via the control panel, typically located in the garage and involve no more than manipulating a few buttons or rotating a dial. That's it!

There are three services necessary to maintain the integrity of all lawn sprinkler systems:

• Spring Start-Up - pressurize the system, check all zones for leaks, check adjustment of heads, replace back-up battery in controller if necessary, verify program schedule, and program system for spring watering.

• Backflow Test - one of our state licensed plumbers will test your backflow device with an approved and calibrated gauge to assure compliance with government standards. We then submit a copy of your test to the county or municipality you reside in.

• Winterization - purge the sprinkler system of all water using a high volume air compressor, drain water service back to shut-off valve to protect against freezing, drain backflow device.
